A light straw colour lager with a see through transparency with a thick foam head. Abundant carbonation with fast moving bubbles. It has malty, bready, biscuity, wheaty and crackery aromas emanating which are all detected and reflected in the flavour upon further investigation in the taste. There's no distinguishing character, no real flavour where there isn't anything special in the flavour. In regards to the mouthfeel, there's an unpleasant harsh bitter aftertaste. It has a light body and the carbonation gives it an uplifting sensation. The bitterness certainly lingers and prevents the lager from having balance and enticement in it's flavour and taste.
In comparison to Stella Artois, this has a darker colour which appears to have a pale gold colour with a slightly hazy transparency. It has a lovely full and dense foam head and in relation to Stella Artois, it also has abundant carbonation and fast moving bubbles. It has an inviting and invigorating malty biscuity aroma with notes of wheat and bread. The taste is soft, smooth, delicate and definitely balanced. The mouthfeel has a light body with refreshing and crisp qualities. There are definitely spices present where the hops have character which is unlike Stella Artois whose dreadful bitterness takes away it's appeal. This unfiltered version has a vibrant taste and at 5.0%, it has a much better flavour profile to balance the hops, regular UK Stella is currently at 4.6%. There is a noticeable difference to the taste as there is a slightly more malty taste to it. Stella Unfiltered has a better taste and is more smoother than regular Stella.
